CASE STUDIES
Seton Main Hospital
One of my favorite case studies to present was on a patient who was receiving a heart transplant during my time at Seton Main Hospital. I was able to observe the complications in her procedure as well as her road to recovery. This patient also taught me how closely you have to watch feeding in patients in the ICU.
I presented a Unusual Diagnosis case study on a girl with Glycogen
Storage Disorder Type 1A. I chose this patient because her diagnosis
was unfamiliar with the dietitians I worked with. I learned a lot about about the disease and was able to teach my preceptors about it.
During this time I also presented a case study on a patient with ulcerative esophagitis.
Dell Seton Medical Center
During my time at Dell Seton Medical Center, I presented a case study on an HIV patient. This patient was particular interesting to me because she also had economic constraints. This allowed me to look into various community businesses that could assist her in her health care and HIV treatment.
